That effect is called adhesive or capillary action. It occurs when the liquid molecules are attracted to the surface of the container, causing them to be pulled up and stick to the side of the container as they flow.
The ability of water to take the shape of the container it is in is related to its viscosity. The lower a viscosity, the more likely a liquid will flow and fill in the spaces of the container it is in as gravity pulls it down. A different name for this is fluidity.
The name of a curved line gragh is a pie chart or a circle gragh.
The most common name for a curved sword is the scimar which was developed by the persians. The saber is also a curved sword - usually used by cavalry troops.
The curved part of a saddle is called the "seat."
The curve you see on top of a liquid in a cylinder is called the meniscus and is due to the difference between the attractive force between the liquid molecules themselves and between the liquid molecules and the wall of the cylinder, as well as capillary action. When the molecules of the liquid have a greater attraction to the cylinder wall than to themselves, the meniscus is concave and the surface of the liquid curved downwards. Water drawn up a narrow glass cylinder has a concave meniscus. When the molecules of the liquid have a greater attraction to themselves than to the cylinder wall, the meniscus is convex and curves upwards. Mercury in a glass thermometer or barometer has a convex meniscus.
