The first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest was Edmund Hillary from New Zealand.

The first two climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest on 29th May 1953, was Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay.

Junko Tabei became the first woman to scale Everest. That was in 1975. Tabei has also climbed the Seven Summits. In her 70's she is still climbing.

The second person to reach the summit of Mount Everest was Tenzzing Norgay on the 29th May 1953, just after Edmund Hillary.
