Lakeside Amusement Park near Denver, Colorado, USA was built 1906 -1908 opening in May of 1908. The park was originally called "White City" after an architectural style originating in Chicago. There were several White City amusement parks across the US in the early 20th Century. One of the principals in the founding of Lakeside was Adolph Zang a German immigrant who also founded the Zang Brewing Company. The park opened with a beer garden theme and included a Ferris wheel, a Star Ride (similar to a Ferris wheel) merry-go-round, shoot-the-chutes, an early roller coaster, fun house, and two steam locomotives from the 1904 St Louis Worlds Fair which are still operating on the property.
