A fish's niche is :

Eat plants in the water

Their 'waste' can be used to fertilize the plants in the water

They provide food for other animals and humans.

When they die their bodies float down to the bottom of the ocean etc and act like a fertilizer for the earth

often lives in shallow lakes, ponds or rivers. young fish feed one crustaceans and other invertebrates. As they mature they feed on other fish (ex. perch), frogs and larger invertebrates. They are food for humans and eagles.
