The normal heart rate for adults is between 60-100 beats per minute. However, medications and certain conditions can raise and lower your normal pulse rate. Additionally, people who are very physically fit sometimes have a much lower resting heart rate. See your doctor to determine what a proper heart rate is for yourself personally. (Edited... Just point out this ANSWER IS WRONG, I don't know what the answer is, but I checked in my health book, and this information is wrong.)

There is no ideal as such, as it depends on your general health, any medication you may be taking etc. The average adults resting heart rate is around 72bpm. Anywhere between 60-80 is good. If it's less than 50 or more than 100 while resting, you should probably see your doctor assuming you are not an athlete or have been diagnosed for a condition.

I myself am 17, I rarely exercise and have pretty poor fitness. Over the past 4 days my resting heart rate has varied between 76bpm and 88bpm. As I say, I'm quite unfit, so ideally it should be a bit lower, roughly around the 70-75bpm mark. I'd be able to achieve this if I exercised more regularly.

i have 60 ;)

Though I'm 14 and are very athletic (I dance, play soccer, and exercise daily) it could help still. Well, my normal resting rate is between 80-90 and the highest resting was 130. Exercising is from 110-200 (I've gone to 210 before but that was after an hour exercise and ten minute run after that. (The norm. is 70-100) (Ex: right now it's (by it's i mean bpm/heart rate) about 90-96)

Heart (or pulse) rates can vary from person to person. However ure pulse shud be between 60-100 beats per minute. If its a little over 100, eg.105, I would not panic too much.

If you are concerned about ure health, you MUST talk to a doctor or your own GP (it doesn't matter if its about your heart, back, or whatever it is, its very important).

Hope this info helped:)

Everything from 65 to 95 BPM will be considered OK. Ideal resting heart rate for 16 years old would be 65-70 BPM.
