AnswerAs a general rule a 6 cylinder will take about 5 quarts. Add them then run to operating temp then shut it off and recheck. It just be just about right. Good luck. My manual says it's 4.5 quarts for a 3.1 V6.
I found out, it's around 210F.
this is a stupid question it was so long and i didnt even finish reading it
I have a 01 Buick and the ac temp that comes out of the vents is around 50 deg - at idle and around 45 deg at highway speed - Is this normal a normal temp? or should the ac temps be colder?
CRANK SENSOR! BOB
You have to use the coolant reservoir. You'll notice it's marked as a pressure cap. If it's loose, you'll notice as your temp guage will keep going up and down instead of being steady. Many vehicles do not have a cap ON THE RADIATOR, but instead have a pressure cap on the coolant reservoir. I don't own a Buick Skylark and haven't worked on one, so I can only guess with you.
The coolant temp sensor on a 97 Buick Century is on the side of the radiator. It is just below the radiator cap.
98.6 is the normal temp... 99.6 is a bit high.
the normal temp on most or all cars in that year range is 195 degrees
