The number accompanying your rank is your skill level in a specified, ranked playlist.
For instance, Halo 3's matchmaking is divided into 'hoppers', simply meaning different playlists.
In each ranked playlist, you are given a skill level; minimum 1, maximum 50.
Winning games will begin increasing your skill level, while losing has the inverse affect.
