On October 11th, 1954, pope Pius XII published the encyclical "Ad caeli reginam" which treated on the Queenship of Mary. On the liturgical calendar, the feast of Mary as Queen was then assigned as May 31st, though it was moved to its present feast day of August 22nd during the modern liturgical reform of 1969.
