The answer to that I believe would be no. The oldest public school still in operation in Canada to my knowledge is Pictou Academy which was first founded by that name in 1816, though the founder had been running a school out of his home since 1806. Pictou is the Oldest Existing School but Virgil's Building from 1872 is older than Pictou's current building from 1940! SO the answer is yes and no!
