The oldest city, predating records, are Canterbury, Carlisle, Chichester, Durham, Ely, Exeter, Lincoln, London, Salisbury, Winchester Bangor, York. The oldest from date of incorporation is Newcastle, dated 1080. Please note however, a city may have only recently officially become a city, but may have been around for millenia, but without city status
