The liter is classed as a non-SI unit accepted for use with the SI. Being one thousandth of a cubic meter, the liter is not a coherent unit of measure with respect to SI.
There is only one unit of measure for current: the ampere. All currents are measured in amps or fractions of amps or their equivalent.

You can do so in any unit but in backward countries people talk of boat lengths in feet because they use the imperial system. More properly they should use the international standard unit of length which which the meter and would be understood worldwide.
As far as I am aware, CO is not a unit of measure.
A unit can be a measure of length. It is one-dimensional. A squared unit can be a measure of area. It is two-dimensional. A cubic unit can be a measure of volume. It is three-dimensional.
This depends on what unit you are using to measure in. However, area will always be measure in (unit)^2.
The most common unit used worldwide is the SI unit for mass: the kilogram.
The international (SI) unit of mass is the kilogram.
The measure unit of a kilometer stick is kilometer.
