The coolant temperature sensor in a 1998 Cadillac Seville STS is in the engine compartment. It is located on the intake manifold.
There is usually a placard under the hood with a diagram.

If it is the same as the '94 SLS Northstar, Its under the intake manifold. Sounds crazy, but true.

The Cadillac Seville STS or Seville Touring Sedan was manufactured by Cadillac and sold during the years of 1988 to 2012. During this time, a series of STS models were assembled. The last STS to be asembled was in 2011 on 4 May.
I have a '98 STS with the Northstar and was recently on Cadillacforums.com and the same question was asked about the northstar and alternator. From what I remember, You have to take the right radiator fan out, take passenger side tire off, I think remove the black plastic (might be in the way) and you should be able to get at it from there. word of caution though, watch you dont bash the radiator in when you turn it to get it out.
Yes.The engine was the same 4600 V8 NorthStar which had 2 versions with different horsepower depending on the model trim.
