really mean teacher- they might call your parents and make you do extra work. They might take points off from your grade.
mean teacher- they will have a talk with you about how "homework is important" and will make you do it during your free time( recess, study hall, lunch, whatever). They might take points off from your grade.
nice teacher- They will make you do it on the spot, no questions asked.
really nice teacher (WARNING- THIS IS RARE)- "Oh, don't worry about it, sweetie. We all forget once in a while." your teacher says and gives you a pat on the back.

∙ 14y agoThis is a wordy way of saying "how will homework help me after I graduate." Homework is practice - if you miss the practice, you either have to make it up by working harder later, or you will miss out on something important you might need later on.
I like to encourage students to think of homework just like they think of sports or music or any other creative activity. You wouldn't ask somebody else to practice football for you, would you? You wouldn't expect to be able to play a song if you have never practiced playing it, would you? Expecting to do well in school by not doing your homework is like expecting to just show up for the game and magically be good at the sport!
