Seth was the name given to Adam's third annotated son in the Hebrew Bible, or the Christian Old Testament in Genesis 4:25. In Hebrew the name is pronounced as Shays or Shayt, depending on dialect. It's meaning is to appoint/replace. As it says in the passage mentioned above, Seth was born after the slaying of Abel by Cain, and Eve believed God had appointed him as "replacement" for Abel "because Cain killed him."
