I've seen it called "hallway wiring".
The idea is the same in both cases . . . there's a switch at both ends, and either switch
can turn the light on and off, regardless of the position of the other switch.
That way, a single person can turn the light on at one end of the hallway or staircase,
walk up the stairs or through the hallway, and turn the light off when he reaches the
other end.
Staircase lighting puts the light exactly where your feet go. There is no shadow cast on the treads. Overhead lighting will cause shadows when your body gets between the overhead light source and the stair treads. One disadvantage is the extra cost to install this type of system.
The most commonly used wiring method for residential use is called nonmetallic sheathed cable. Other types of wiring methods are knob and tube, as well as service entrance cable.
It is in parallel, so one light can be on while others are turned off.
Cleat wiring is exposed while in conduit wiring the wires are well protected inside tubes/pipes.

We can do wiring in staircase by two different circuits.(i.e. R or Y or B).
Another word for a moving staircase is 'escalator'?
A two way switch is required for staircase wiring. A staircase switch will have two terminals. Connect the line wire with the center terminal. Connect the two ends of a wire with the top two terminals and two ends of a wire with the bottom two terminals. The line wire at the center terminal can now be connected with one terminal of the light bulb or light holder.

It didnt have a name. why would people name staircases+
It did not have a name. why would you name stairs?
It didn't have a name. It would be stupid to name staircases.
It is harder to build a spiral Staircase because if you build a spiral staircase it will be longer and twistier than a straight staircase.

Staircase control is totally upto the staircase maker, staircase control is measured especially in the designing part of the process.
