7 or less
it has neither an acidic nor an alkaline pH, it is neutral at pH 7
PH means negative logarithom of hydrogen ion concentration…so value of hydrogen ion concentration in solution is called the PH of solution.
Ph of a neutral solution is 7. less than that - acidic more alkeline
pH = -log10[H+] = -log10(0.001 mol/L )= -log10(10-3)= 3
salt with water is a soultion
Decide on the concentration of the buffer, use 1L to be simple PH for your buffer should be within one pH unit from the pKa of the acid/conjugate base use Henderson Hasselbalch Equation pH = pKa + log ([Base]/[Acid]) For a 1 M buffer [Acid] + [Base] = 1
i want ipmt 2009 questio paper with soultion
finding the soultion or answer .
solution
An acid would have a smaller than PH7 number. Hydrochloric being around PH1. Adding a caustic hydroxl with a pH (much) higher than 7 would bring the acid into ph7 range and make it a salt. Best done with the PH meter sampling the mix.
