Verified answer

the source of the nebular cloud theory is not explained

the the theory contradicts the fact related to angular momentum

there wasnt enough mass in the rings to provide the gravitational pull for condensation into individual planets.

It was advanced by Jeans and Jeffergs that the solar system was formed 4600

million years ago.

It proposed that a star with a greater gravitational pull than the sun and drew a stream of material in form of gas.

The materials split and condensed to form planets set in orbit by the passing star.

This is a guess, because the term is a little vague, but at one time (first half of the twentieth century) there was a theory that planets were "pulled" from their parent star by the gravity of another star passing nearby. The first section of E.E. "Doc" Smith's Triplanetary, the start of the Lensman saga, is an example of a writer using something that was at the time a reasonable theory which has since been shown to be purest nonsense.

What are the objections to the passing star hypothesis?

Conservation of momentum. Regularity of orbits, "Sameness" of all orbiting material. (Note - that was the preferred theory when I was young.)

Who proposed the passing star mechanism of the origin of the solar system?

Pierre-Simon Laplace proposed the nebular hypothesis, not the passing star mechanism. Buffon proposed the passing star mechanism.

Which theory proposes that the moon was a passing asteroid pulled into orbit by Earth's gravity?

The capture theory says that the moon was originally orbiting the sun, but it passed to near the earth, and became the moon. The biggest problem with this theory is that this action would have created so much heat that it would melt the earth.

What or Which theory says that the Moon was pulled from the Earth?

The second theory says that the moon is a captured asteroid.

What is the twin star theory?

The twin star theory is that there may be another star similar to the star we call "the sun" that could possibly make life on another planet possible.

What is chamberlain Moulton hypothesis?

The Tidal Theory (or Chamberlain-Moulton Theory) suggests that a passing star pulled dust and debris from the forming Sun, leaving a string of debris that eventually formed the planets. It's a theory with a probability of less than 1 to 100'000'000 The result of the forces of that passing star made up the size and distance ratios in our solar system in such a way that the apparent mean diameter of or moon and our sun are exactly the same (0°32') despite the wide difference in sizes and distances. What a coincidence!! What a precision in a chaotic environment of birth of our earth that will turn to an inhabitable setup!!
