It's hard to know exactly what you are referring to. The travelling round the sun doesn't cause anything of itself. However, if the planet has axial tilt, you get seasons and all the changes associated with them.

All of the nine planets move around the sun. These planets are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and of course little Pluto. The movement of a planet making a trip once around the sun is its orbital time. Jupiter for example rotates once around the sun in 12 Earth Years. WOW! Pluto orbits in 248 Earth Years!! Therefore, to answer the question, not only does a planet orbit the sun but all nine of the planets do!

If you mean revolve (i.e. moves around the Sun), we get the different seasons. The seasons are due to the tilt of the Earth but they changes as the Earth revolves. It takes a year for one revolution of the Sun.

It takes Earth one year, about 365 1/4 days, to complete a full revolution around the sun. Earth revolves around the sun in a broad path, or orbit.
