Judeo-Christians--Hindus believe in avatars, which may be a similar concept.
Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the savior who came into this world to save them of their sins.
We believe that Jesus the Messiah is our savior and the son of god, and that he died on the cross to forgive our sins.
messiah means "savior" so people project jesus as the savior. but they expect to have a political savior to save them from the roman empire just as moses did in egypt.
Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, we also believe that as the Messiah, he is the only Way to God. In order to go to heaven you must believe that Jesus is the Messiah, son of God, our Savior, that he died on the cross for our sins, and that he rose again.
Jewish people worship the same god as Christians do. Jews believe that the Messiah has not come to Earth yet; Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah; and Muslims believe Mohammad is the prophet of Alah but was not a holy being. The Muslim understanding of Mohammad would be paralle to the Jewish view Jesus.
The Greek word for Savior is "Σωτήρ" (sotir) and for messiah is "Μεσσίας" (messias).

The Messiah, The Savior, The King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, The Prince of Peace
Who Jesus Christ was... a good teacher/rabbi or the true son of God and Savior of the World Jews did not believe in Christ as the Messiah, the savior of the world. What they expect for a Messiah is a political messiah that would liberate them from the Romans at that time. They were just disappointed when they knew that Jesus is talking to another kind of saving the world.
Messiah.
the messiah
The Christian believes that the Messiah that was predicted in the Old Testament to come into the world came approximately 2000 years ago and was named Jesus (Jesus the Christ or Messiah). He is the Son of God and the Savior of any one who accepts Him as their Savior.
