The midnight zone and the abyssal zone

The aphotic zone is permanently dark. Organisms would need to be able to manufacture and obtain food without photosynthesis.

this could be the aphotic zone where only 1% of the surface light reaches. The Bethnic zone is the VERY bottom and is basically the sediment zone.

The third layer of the ocean is the Bathypelagic Zone. This is also called the dark zone. There is no sunlight in this zone, and it extends from 1,000 meters to about 4,000 meters in depth. The pressure is extremely high in this zone.
The continental shelf

they are two types of places where animals live light zone and dark zone in light zone may be dolphins, sea dogs,shrimps,some little sharks,etc..... in dark zone may be sharks,whales,sellfish,etc.......

At the top of the ocean, or Sunlit, It is warmer because the top of the ocean the sun is closer then it is to the twilight,dark,abyss, and trenches zone. At the bottom of the ocean, or Trenches, It is colder because the sun can not reach that low in the ocean better then it can the Sunlit zone.
