Verbs of denial in Japanese are Nai (for non-living things) and Inai (for living things). An example sentence is "Inu ga inai" meaning "There's no dog".

The suffix -kunai can also be used with adjectives to describe something which is not X, for instance "Yasashikunai" meaning "It's not easy".
