There's a woman and her husband who live next to a witches house. The woman becomes obsessed with some lettuce growing the witches garden, and convinces her husband to climb the wall and pick it. The witch catches him and forces him to give her his daughter, who she named Rapunzel. She locked Rapunzel in a tower, and every morning she made Rapunzel "let down her golden hair" so she could climb up it. One day a prince heard Rapunzel singing, and instantly fell in love. He saw how the witch climbed into the tower and did it himself. He continued to visit Rapunzel secretly, until one day Rapunzel gave it away. The witch moved Rapunzel to a distant prison, but the prince looked for her and found her, and they both lived happily ever after!
