The main character Ashlyn can see faeries but she has been told her whole life to avoid them. Then the king of the summer court (Keenan) starts to pursue her because he believes she is meant to be his queen. But she already loves a guy who has been her best friend for a long time, whose name is Seth. The reason Keenan needs her is because his full power is frozen by the queen of the Winter court (who is his mother), so he can't fully protect his fey. Plus he already loves someone else but he can't be with her. So it's about Ashlyn trying to deal with feelings for Keenan and Seth and wanting to become his queen (which would involve her becoming a faerie) but she has always hated and feared them. It's a really good series if your in to that type of fiction.
