This has to do with the Assist system. The air runecrafting world is where players meet, to assist / request assistance in runecrafting. The player who assists (let's call him player 1) does it to get the experience; the player who requests assistance (player 2) wants the money, because at higher levels of runecrafting (from player 1), player 2 will get more air runes. Note that player 2 will get no runecrafting experience in this case - so it is a trade-off, between experience and quick money.
