SHUDRA VARNA AND SHUDRA: 1. Shudra is the fourth and the last Varna in Hinduism.A person using that Varna is also called a Shudra.2. It is the exact opposite of Brahmana Varna.3. It is the most misunderstood Varna.4. A Hindu uses this Varna when his life is chaotic.5. The salient feature of this Varna is absence of a status, or the presence of a status that varies every moment. This unlimited freedom is necessary for a Shudra because, to survive he must be ready to do any thing and everything6. This unlimited freedom makes an activity to transform every time it is re executed (Reincarnation). Thus, Karma is highest in Shudra Varna and least in Brahmana Varna.7. The absence of a status makes Shudra to use reasoning. This is in marked contrast to Brahmana, who uses logic.8. He can live outside the society and have unlimited freedom. However, if we wishes to return to the society, he must live under the guidance of a man with a higher Varna. It is least efficient when we use our feet to reach for the food (Shudra Varna).Thus, what Rigveda 1.10.90 - 12 symbolically means is that Brahmana Varna is the most efficient and Shudra Varna, the least efficient.Thus, sooner than later, a Hindu should imitate a Brahmana, if he can't afford to become a Brahmana.This also proves that Varnas have nothing to do with occupation, as is popularly believed.HIGHER VARNAS FOR A SHUDRA:A Shudra can have become a Vaishya by having minimum standards for all activities of his life. To answer this question, i need to explain a small thing. With in brahman community, out of my understanding, there were 2 categories, namely, Vaidika Brahmana as well as Niyyoga Brahmana. You will undestand tThe reason of categorising as such, when you understand what each category are supposed to do. First comes the Vaidika Brahmana Community. They are set to serve the entire man kind by performing all the Poja related activities. This poja related activities could be # Pooja at Temple # Pooja at any cerimony for the human kind # Cerimony could be for a happy ocasion as well as sad occassion So, by understanding the responsibilities from the above what we can understand is that, the people from this community are supposed to be friest for the entire human world. But then when the entire human kind has to perform the pooja at home, they can do it them self, as long as it is exclusively with in home or family. Then the concept comes when the family has to perform poja and invite other family friends or relatives, as an example pooja performed at the time of New House. At such incidents the family will invite the brahmins from Vaidika Community and request them to perform the pooja on their behalf... ON THEIR BEHALF.. This is the reason the priest will ask your PRAVARA while peforming the pooja and the family initiated such pooja will utter "MA MA.." inother words, ME.
