According to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the population of the universe is zero, as there are an infinite number of worlds, but only a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity equals next to nothing, therefore the population of the universe is zero. Any person you may meet from time to time is just the product of a deranged imagination.
