This quote was said from the U.S. General, Curtis LeMay during the Vietnam War. I was wondering if this is true.
The Spanish military governor of Cuba was General Valeriano Weyler. He was given this position in 1896 replacing Martinez de Campos. However, he was recalled back to Europe in 1897 after criticism for his handling of the situation in Cuba.
General Curtis Lemay, famous for his part in the mass air raids against Japan late in WW2, believed that President Kennedy acted too weakly during the Cuban Missile Crisis. At several points, he attempted to force the hands of the politicians by sending planes to provoke the Soviets and Cubans.
