it is were everything (except your titles and emblems) gets erased, (guns, challenges, perks, equipment, etc.) its pretty much starting over... but the benefit to going into prestige is new titles and emblems, and once you reach level 70, you can't gain any more XP points, and it just starts to get boring. and people will think "wow, he's a higher level than me, i respect him." that's why they call it prestige... to get to prestige you have to get to level 70 (the highest rank) and go to barracks then scroll down to prestige, and there you go!
