Germany made many variations of guns. Some were made for officers that are plated or special grips or such that makes them more valuable.
What condition? A WW2 gun can be almost like new with original blue finish (the black coating) and the other extreme of the scale are guns that were dug out of the ground.
The Serial Number AC44 sounds like a Walther P-38 but I don't have a reference book for it.
