The value of a 1899 silver dollar, specifically the Morgan silver dollar, can vary significantly based on its condition and rarity. Typically, these coins range from around $20 to several hundred dollars, with uncirculated examples fetching higher prices. Factors such as mint mark, wear, and market demand also play a critical role in determining the exact value. For the most accurate assessment, consulting a coin dealer or using a price guide is recommended.
Most silver dollars are worth 15-20 dollars. Certain rare mint marks can increase the value. And, of course, condition is very important.

They were used for daily commerce, and weren't sold as bullion pieces so there was no need to mark them as being made of silver - everyone knew it.
