Herbal essences range for dry/damaged hair like hello hydration and the hydralicious combinations of shampoos and conditioners are very softening to the hair, however the range does contain silicones which overtime can add a buildup on the scalp and on the hair making it prone to dryness. I think its nice to have these products in your arsenal for instance if you're straightening the hair for the weekend or you want your hair extra soft in an Afro puff or curls, but its good to have a clarifying yet softening shampoo (sulfate-free) if possible to clear the buildup and a good conditioner without silicones. I'm still discovering what works in terms of my hair regimen, for instance some people love herbal essences conditioners as co-washes. It all depends on what works for you. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try as they are relatively cheap products and could be beneficial to your regimen, if your not following the cg (curly girl) method and fully organic/natural no cones, sulphates, chems. I tried all of that myself and the products i used seemed to be drying and irritating to my scalp and hair so I'm going back to what i know, yet at the same time remembering to clarify regularly.
