Some kids have problems coping with online school because it requires a lot of self-starting. Far too many programs out there right now just hand the kid all the materials and let him figure it out on his own schedule. That's great for kids who are really motivated, but that seldom works for kids who fell behind in the first place because of a lack of motivation. I've heard that Fieldstone ( http://www.fieldstoneacademy.org/virtual ) has a program with live courses that would demand a bit more accountability form the students. I'm sure there are others, I just haven't been able to do the research.
