The process is called a photosynthesis. Plants make glucose and oxygen from: sunlight and carbon dioxide.

That's why deforestation is so dangerous; without plants carbon dioxide levels would quickly build up - which contributes to global warming as well as increases the concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere

What is the process called by which green plants convert sunlight to energy?

they are called evergreen.

What is the process by which plants convert sunlight into energy, and what is the name of the pigment responsible for this conversion"?

Plants convert sunlight into energy through a process called photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, plants use sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to produce glucose (sugar) and oxygen. The pigment responsible for capturing sunlight and initiating the photosynthesis process is called chlorophyll.

What is the primary energy source for plants?

The primary energy source for plants is sunlight. Through a process called photosynthesis, plants capture sunlight and convert it into energy to fuel their growth and survival.

Plants and algae that convert sunlight to food energy are called?

Plants and algae that convert sunlight to food energy are called autotrophs or producers. They use a process called photosynthesis to capture sunlight and convert it into chemical energy in the form of glucose. This process is essential for providing food and energy for the rest of the ecosystem.

What provides energy by plants during photosynthesis?

Plants do not take in energy. Plants take in carbon dioxide and sunlight. They then convert this into glucose for energy during the photosynthesis process.

What is the process by which plants use sunlight energy to convert water and carbon dioxide into sugars?

photosynthesis

What absorbs sunlight?

Chlorophyll in plants and phytoplankton in the ocean absorb sunlight in the process of photosynthesis to convert it into energy. Additionally, dark surfaces such as asphalt and soil absorb sunlight and convert it into heat energy.

Can An Plant Grow With No Sunlight?

No, plants need sunlight for photosynthesis, a process in which they convert sunlight into energy to grow. Without sunlight, plants will not be able to produce energy and will not be able to grow properly.

What are the ingredients of photosenthesis?

Photosynthesis is the process where plants convert sunlight into energy (in very simple terms). There are not ingredients.

What are causes of photosynthesis?

Photosynethesis means the process by which green plants convert carbon dioxide to sugar and oxygen using sunlight e.g. Photosynethesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, they do this for energy.

Is the process through which plants convert electromagnetic energy into chemical energy?

Yes, the process through which plants convert electromagnetic energy from sunlight into chemical energy in the form of glucose through photosynthesis. This process occurs in the chloroplasts of plant cells using the pigment chlorophyll to capture energy from light.
