Deep V is a rim profile. Compared to a lower profile the Deep V is more aerodynamic and also stiffer. The increased stiffness means that it can be run with fewer spokes, which also improve aerodynamics.
V Deep was created in 1982.
The purpose of the v-brake spring in a bicycle's braking system is to provide tension and help retract the brake arms after they have been squeezed, allowing the brake pads to release from the wheel rim.
V-brakes on bicycles offer advantages such as easy maintenance, good stopping power, and compatibility with various wheel sizes. They are also lightweight and cost-effective compared to other braking systems.
Deep Vs can be more aerodynamic, but are rumored to ride more harshly. They're more sensitive to side winds too. Low profile are less sensitive to side winds, and are supposed to ride softer. Can be lighter too.
