An oyster exists to reproduce to let its species carry on existing. That's the basic purpose of all life. the purpose of the oyster is also to filter the chesapeake bay this is how they eat. they eat by sucking in all of the bad water and filter it this is how they survive.if all of the water was clean around them they would die from starvation. if this were to happen it would mess up the food chain really badly.jacob
