The ball at the top of the flag pole is probably just there for decoration. Or, it may simply be there to balance out the pole... who knows? But according to my friends, it's also to keep the flag from flying off the pole, too.
Red is on top.
The blue field in the top left corner which holds 50 stars for the 50 US states of America. The rest of the flag are 13 red and white stripes (7 red, 6 white) representing the original 13 colonies of Britain on the East Coast. The blue field with the 50 stars is called the "canton" or the "union." The "field" is what contains the stripes. The "fly" is the length of the flag (left to right). The "hoist" of the flag is the height of the flag on the side that it is attached to a pole or a halyard for raising and lowering.
Not before 1963
The imaginary line that runs through Greenwich, England is called Prime Meridian. Lines of Latitude encircle the globe horizantally (with the north pole at the top) Lines of Longitude are the vertical lines (with the north pole ar the top)
The Wisconsin state flag is a background of blue with the state coat of arms. There is a sailor and a miner holding a shield. On the top is the state motto "Forward". Below it is a badger which is the state animal. It has 1848 on it which is the year that Wisconsin became a state.
A truck
The ball on top of the flag pole is call the truck
its called a truk
It is called a ball and sits on top of the truck.ANS2:The ball IS the truck. The pole was topped with other shapes of trucks, including balls on plates and eagles but those have mostly been abandoned because the ball is the shape that is least likely to cause the flag to tangle.
a bullet a kernel of wheat & match
the county flag becouse there ar always three flags ona pole 1st the ountry flag thenstate flag3rd is the city flag
There is one match and one bullet inside the ball on top of the American flag poles and a pistil under the flag pole. This is so that if we Americans were ever in the position where we had to surrender our flag we can first burn it with the match and then we can use the bullet to kill ourselves so we can not be taken hostage.
An American Eagle in flight is placed on the flag post top.
The truck is the name for the round ball on top of the flagpole. It serves to keep the flag from getting caught if wind flips it over the pole. There are a number of legends about what is inside the truck- a match to burn the flag, a razor blade to cut up the flag, a pistol cartridge for the last soldier, etc. Sorry- the ball is hollow. Nothing in there.
on nsmb there is a propeller hat, right? use that to fly on top of the flag pole
It doesn't 'wave'. It's suspended from the flag pole from a piece of horizontal wire attached to the top of the flag pole at a right angle.
No. However, it does usually have a pulley at the top to help raise the flag.
