Presumably this is meant to be the 'Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.' The 'Tomb of the Unknown Soldier' is a symbolic representation of all the soldiers, who have fought in and after WW1, whose bodies (and thus identities) were never discovered.

∙ 10y agoTo commemorate the sacrifice (for you and me) of the soldiers who's dies in the first and second world war, but whose remains were never found so that they could be buried. The tomb is therefore the virtual resting place for all these soldiers and forms a point round which people of today can meet and remember what they did for us and out freedom.
