The justification for the US going to war with Iraq is slightly open to question and debate. The main reason given was because they believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and they had to be disarmed. Many believe it was simply to remove Saddam Hussein though and some even think it was for reasons of oil.
The US's objective is to gain oil from Iraq.

As I understand it - Iraq is not allowed to have any planes/aircraft in the skies. Purpose is so they cannot bomb their own (or any) people.
The people involved in the war in Iraq are the US, Iraq and the UK.
As soon as the US feels that law, order, and stability has been established in the country.
To prop up their slumping popularity with the US voting public.
The question you should be asking is, "How do you know if one of your family members in the Marine Corps is going to Iraq?" the answer is your family member will be notified by one of their superiors and the family member will tell you. And just for your information the US Marines are the most deployed force in the US Armed Forces.
