50/50 50% Dex Coolant and 50% Distilled Water. This is assuming you did not buy a premixed gallon of coolant. This will protect you to -40 F.
Dex coolant is very popular in newer vehicles. Dex coolant is good for 50,000 miles or 5 years which ever comes first.
GM recommends Dex-cool, the orange stuff.
because dex-cool has different heat dissipation property's then green ethylglycol coolant.. use of green prestone in a dex cool system can cause head gasket and overheat issues not to mention premature internal wear.

I guess you can use any coolant that is compatible with the dex coolant. Many auto part stores carry their own brand and Prestone has been around a long time. I'm sure that these anti-freeze formulas are compatible with GM, Ford, Chrysler and any foreign car coolant. You should drain your old anti-freeze anyway and add new (50/50) antifreeze and water mix. You can check the % mixture for the climate where you live.
For a 2001 Pontiac Montana, it's recommended to use a coolant that meets GM's specifications, specifically an Extended Life Antifreeze/Coolant (DEX-COOL) formula. DEX-COOL is typically orange in color and is designed to provide protection against corrosion and overheating. Always ensure to check the owner's manual for specific recommendations and to maintain the proper coolant-to-water ratio for optimal performance.
