sulf + barium
Not beryllium sulphate is used as contrast substance in x-ray radiology but barium sulphate; barium is a heavy metal and strongly absorb x-rays.
Barium chloride is used in the limit test for sulphates because it forms a precipitate with sulphate ions. Alcohol is added to the mixture to promote the formation of small crystals, which makes it easier to detect the presence of sulphate ions in the sample.
Barium sulphate
When potassium chromate reacts with barium sulfate, a precipitation reaction occurs. Barium chromate is formed as a yellow precipitate, while potassium sulfate remains in solution. This reaction can be used to detect the presence of sulfate ions in a solution.
To improve the yield of barium sulphate in a gravimetric analysis, you can ensure complete precipitation by adding the appropriate amount of precipitating agent (sulfuric acid or barium chloride) slowly with stirring. Additionally, allowing the precipitate to settle and then filtering it using a fine filter paper can help to remove impurities and increase the yield. Washing the precipitate with the solvent used in the precipitation step can also improve the purity of the barium sulphate.
Can be used in Fluoirescent tubes and also make Paint, Bricks, Tiles, Glass and Rubber.
Barium sulphate is used in hospital scans to show the digestive system. It is very important in CT scans.
Group 2 reagents are used for the identification of cations such as calcium, strontium, and barium. Common reagents include ammonium carbonate, ammonium oxalate, and ammonium sulfate.
Bacl2 is the chemical formula for barium chloride, an inorganic compound composed of barium and chlorine. It is a white crystalline solid that is commonly used in the laboratory for various applications, such as in the production of other barium compounds or as a reagent in organic synthesis.
Add to several drops of sulfuric acid a few grains of barium chloride; a white precipitate of barium sulfate is obtained.
Add some barium chloride solution to the neutral or weakly acid sulfate solution
It is a medical concoction that is used to provide contrast in the X-rays, during an Upper G.I. exam. It is comprised of Barium Sulphate.
