AnswerCaylee was last seen in June of 2008 by anyone other than her mother. In July, her mother, Casey, returned home without Caylee, and Cindy (the grandmother) called the police. A search for Caylee ensued, which eventually became the largest search for a missing person in history. Casey was arrested for check fraud, theft, and, finally, Caylee's disappearance. Casey maintained several stories throughout the search. She lied about having a job at Universal Studios, Caylee having been kidnapped by the nanny (and Casey herself having searched for her for the 31 days Caylee was missing), and various other aspects of the case. Caylee's body was discovered in December of 2008 just yards from the Anthony family's home. Casey was arrested for her death. Casey's car had been found shortly before it was discovered that Caylee was missing, and it was reported to smell like a "dead body." This and searches for "chloroform," "neck breaking," "how to make chloroform," and "self defense techniques" were all used against Casey in the trial. The nanny was found to have never existed, and for the 31 days Caylee was supposedly missing, it was discovered that Casey had been out partying and drinking. The trial began in 2011 (June, I believe), and the defense opened up by saying that George Anthony (Casey's father) and Lee Anthony (her brother) had sexually abused Casey, and thus Casey hid any feelings she had. They also maintained that Caylee had drowned in the family's swimming pool, and that Casey and George had panicked and disposed of the body. George repeatedly maintained his innocence. Casey Anthony, whether because of media bias or not, has become a hated public figure. It is highly unlikely that Caylee's next of kin would allow such a thing. The child's death was a personal tragedy for them, not a side show for the public.

I would say the probablity is high that Anthony has some form of a personality disorder. Her problems did not begin with the discovery by her parents that her daughter was missing. She has a long history of lying, stealing, and other disturbing behaviour. It is a little frightening that she has been turned lose on society. Irreguardless of the manner of Caylee's death, Casey Anthony's demeanor up until her arrest is absolutely shocking. Her revised story was accidental drowning. Any parent that has lost a child through accident, disease or any other cause, by the very nature of being a parent, would be so overcome with grief to the point of being non-functional. Sharon Rocha (Lacey Peterson's mother), was the embodiment of grief, as was Polly Klaas's parents. They never fully recover. Casey Anthony reminded me of Darlie Routier as she sprayed Silly String on her murdered boy's graves just days after their demise. It is very true that not every person displays emotions in the same way. We all deal with life's tragedies differently. But the behaviour of Casey Anthony tells it's own story. Unfortunately, the jury was not paying attention.
