2.833 is the rear-end gear ratio
373
Why would you need to? The rear differential will be the same, only the transfer case will be different. :)
Look on the sticker in your glove box:G80 Differential, automatic lockerGT4 Rear axle, 3.73 ratioGT5 Rear axle, 4.10 ratioGU6 Rear axle, 3.42 ratio
There could be several possibilities that were offered on that vehicle. You could remove the rear cover and count the teeth on the ring and the pinion, then use a calculator to divide the larger number by the smaller number to determine the ratio.
The axle ratio on a 1969 Ford Mustang axle was 2.75:1
Yes, it will fit and mount up just fine. But you will have to make sure the front differential gear ratio matches that of your rear differential. Or what you could do is swap the transmission from the Forester along with the rear differential from the Forester
3.55 look for metal plate on one of the sides of the differential
Open the drivers door and on the end of the door there should be an information sticker that includes the " axle code " =========================================================== conventional differential ( non limited slip ) # 43 is a 3.08 ratio # 41 is a 3.27 ratio # 45 is a 3.55 ratio # 44 is a 3.73 ratio ============================================================= limited slip differential D1 is a 3.27 ratio D4 is a 3.73 ratio
It will be the same as the rear axle. Or take the VIN to the dealer, it is coded into the VIN number.
3.42
