The wheel bearing
Have that tire checked sometimes the belts inside can break and cause a thumping noise
The wheel bearing?
have you checked your car for aliens?
rear differential got lube? rear wheel bearings?
Wheel bearing?
Could the lug nuts be loose? If not I suspect the wheel bearing or perhaps the shock absorber is broken or has come disconnected.
The first thing to check for a wobbly rear end noise is the wheel bearings. If they are ok, check the brake system for worn or broken parts.
without more information i would say it sounds like the wheel bearing.
What corner is it coming from, Is it four wheel drive? Check for as cv boot to be ripped. Turn your wheels hard left and look at the left wheel from the front and right wheel from the rear is there a tear on the axle cv boot or look at the u-joints of either side for grease being expelled
Before I can answer that question, can you describe where the ticking noise is coming from? Front of the vehicle? Rear? Engine? Is it coming from your Wheels? If its coming from the front of the vehicle you might require an oil change. If its coming from the rear of the vehicle it could be your axle. If its coming from your wheels it could be either wheel bearings or a backing plate for your brakes. Does it happen at regular intervals? Are they random and sporadic?
Worn brake drum pads and possibly your wheel bearing.
This sounds like a bad wheel bearing if the noise is coming from the rear. If the noise is coming from the front and it is a front wheel drive car it has a bad CV joint. If it's a rear wheel drive and the noise is coming from the front you have a bad front wheel bearing. A choppy worn tire may also do the same, can't say I have heard a cv joint make that sound though. Need a little more info. Listen to the noise, and notice what direction you turn that makes the noise get louder and what direction gets quiter. If you turn right and it gets quieter, replace the left bearing. If it gets quieter turning left, replace the right. If it is a bearing, applying the brakes will make it slow down. Applying pressure to the rotor slows the tire and bearing and the pressure makes it stop moving as fast, so your noise will get lower. Some mechanics subscribe to this version: If you turn RIGHT (which shifts car weight to LEFT) and noise gets LOUDER, replace LEFT bearing. If you turn LEFT (which shifts car weight to RIGHT) and noise gets LOUDER, replace RIGHT bearing.
