You have problem in your car Mercedes Benzes S320 model 1996 the problem is the RPM gauge coming up to 10rpm when car stopped than you switched off the car and started to return normal and many time?
This hapend to my s320 1997 and the problem was the engine intake air sinser and may i add , my car was stalling most of the time at trafic light.. ( plz let me know if this solves you problem )
