What happens after a yorkie has meningitis?

Meningitis is inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord; it often causes severe neurologic deficits such as inability to walk, abnormal behavior and posture and sometimes seizures. There are three possible outcomes from meningitis - death, full recovery or partial recovery. The first two (death and full recovery) are self-explanatory, but they are less likely than a partial recovery. In a partial recovery, the Yorkie may get better, but would still show residual signs of the inflammation such as occasional seizures or a head tilt. The actual outcome will depend upon what caused the meningitis in the first place, how fast it was treated, how bad it got and how well the Yorkie dealt with it.
