You are referring to the two main types of printers on the market today. Electromagnetic printers are also know as laserjet. The most popular type of non impact printer is an inkjet printer.
There really is no relationship between the two except the both produce printed pages. Inkjet printers are mainly designed for small jobs and laserjets are for bigger jobs.
