Weight is affected by gravity, but mass is not.
weight is the pull of the gravity (probably from earth) then to get it you would combine mass or density, the gravity of the planet and the size or volume of what you are measuring
However mass is just the amount of particles within an object, for example, if a lead block and a block of balsa wood, of the same size, were put on the scales then the lead would obviously weigh more, because it has a higher mas and therefore more particles and a higher weight : )
Hope that helps
The period is independent of the mass.

Describe the relationship between mass and weight.
Not just in astronomy, but in science in general.Mass can be measured by an object's inertia - how hard it is to make an object move, or to stop it. Weight is a force - the force with which something is pulled downwards by gravity. The relation between the two is: Weight = mass x gravity That means that if you take the SAME object, for example, to the Moon, it will have less weight, since there is less gravity. (The mass basically won't change.)
mass number=atomic number+no. of neutrons
The mass of reactants is equal to the mass of products.
The relations between mass and weight are that mass shows how much an object contains. This is about the same thing as weight - how much an object contains.
Weight = Mass x Gravity
weight = mass x gravity
Mass and height are generally not directly related. Height is a measure of how tall someone is, while mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object. While a person's height can affect their weight (mass), there is no strict correlation between height and mass for all individuals.
E=mc^2
Mass is a measure of the amount of matter in an object, while weight is the force of gravity acting on that object. To determine mass from weight, you can use the formula: mass weight / acceleration due to gravity. The relationship between mass and weight is that weight is directly proportional to mass, meaning that as the mass of an object increases, its weight also increases.
