The Greek philosopher you are apparently referring to is the great Aristotle [in Greek: Aris-to-té-lis ]. He was Alexander's main teacher and educator. Alexander's father King Philip II wanted for his young son to have the best teachers in his court in Macedonia, and so, among other famous men of Greece, also invited Aristotle to train and mold the young Alexander. His influence on the man who was to become one of the greatest military leaders of all time was immense.
