Yeah there have been many confusions about Jin Kazama and Asuka Kazama. Since they both have the same last name, many thought they were brother and sister. However, that is not the case. Namco did release a bio of each character and it states that Asuka Kazama is Jin's cousin. So they are cousins and Namco comfirmed it.
Jin and Asuka are related, they are Half-Brother and sister.
