Beyond survival, why do people eat? For energy right? Yes, because lack of food and malnutrition cause fatigue, which makes every task you do more difficult. That brings us to one of the reasons stimulants can correlate with eating disorders. Stimulants give you energy, even with an empty stomach, so if people are on a stimulant they can function in that regard even without food.
Many stimulants, Adderall for example, also cause appetite suppression, causing the user to not even feel hungry.
These two reasons are why there is such a correlation. Stimulants give you energy, while making you feel full.
Eating disorders can - and do - affect anyone. Typically, most eating disorders affected girls / women between the ages of 12 and 28, usually in more western nations.
Eating an excessive amount of chocolate (such as multiple Hershey bars) right before bed can cause some insomnia because chocolate has a chemical similar to caffeine that acts as a stimulant. Other than that, I don't believe chocolate specifically has been linked to sleep disorders.
Eating disorders are most common problems of today world. And it can be at any age.
